Climbing Instruction and Coaching

If you have not climbed outdoors before or have some experience this is a good place to start. Or you may already have experienced indoor wall climbing and want to give it a try on ‘real rock’. You may want to improve your current climbing technique and grades, we can help you achieve this.

Have a go at climbing routes on a famous Peak District gritstone outcrop. Eastern Peak area would be Stanage, Burbage, Froggatt, Curbar, Birchens edges. Western Peak area either The Roaches, Ramshaw rocks or Windgather rocks.

Cave exploration

Adventure underground and explore what lies beneath the landscape of the Peak District.  Experience the incredible beauty of an environment sculptured from 300 million  year old limestone.

Discover delicate calcite formations, fossils, rock pools and waterfalls, which have formed naturally in this subterranean world. Learn about its geology and the history and folk law of local miners who searched for the valuable mineral veins that are encapsulated within the rock.

Our Introductory Caving Experience will involve trips along mainly horizontal passages and caverns and don’t need any previous experience. You will need to be reasonably fit and ready for an exhilarating days activity.

About Us

Go Adventure Activities is run by Neil Bentley and Ruth Jenkins. We’ve been exploring and adventuring in the outdoors from an early age and have built up a wide variety of experience between us.

Climbing, caving, hill walking, mountain biking are our main activities.

We share a good local knowledge of the Peak District and it’s history, both above and under ground in the caves and mines of the Peak.

Neil Bentley

I am a passionate outdoor enthusiast. Climbing, cycling, mountain walking and surfing being my favourite activities.  I have climbed for 36 years, my highlight was making the first ascent of Britain’s first E10 graded climbing route (Equilibrium on Burbage edge in the Peak).

I managed the UK’s first indoor climbing centre,  The Foundry in Sheffield,  for 20 years.  I’ve also worked on various TV and film  productions including climbing stunt double for Matt Damon in Bourne Identity and film location safety team member keeping Johnny Depp and Tim Burton safe on set at Pinewood  Studios making Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

I love the opportunity to share my enthusiasm and experience when working with clients.

Ruth Jenkins

My love of climbing led me to become a member of the British climbing team I have climbed and competed all over the world and I was the first British woman to climb the grade 8b.

For the last 18 years I’ve worked as a stunt woman, performing in Harry Potter as the moaning myrtle double and was carried by Batman in Batman Begins.

My career as an outdoor instructor began 30 years ago and has perfectly complimented my stunt work.  I really enjoy sharing and using my experiences when instructing and coaching.
